A little bit about me!
My name is Malia (pronounced ma-lee-ah) and I live in Knocklyon, Dublin
16. I am married and am a mother to three wonderful boys and our new
addition baby Kate. I grew up in Rathfarnham and studied to Grade 8
piano with the late Dan McNulty, who was a superb teacher. I always
loved music and sang in church and in the school choir. Music always had
the power to lift me and make me happy.
I left my job in banking to look after my children and I always wanted
to work with children and music in some way. In Spring 2005 I discovered
Kindermusik by chance and I knew it was for me. I trained to be a
licensed educator and I have been teaching since August '05.
I really enjoy every class and being a mum myself I think I can
communicate very well with children. It's great to be doing a job that I love.
In the class I aim to make the experience as fun as possible and the
emphasis is on process not performance. We cover lots of different music
styles and listen to music from all around the world. We use the best
quality instruments and the curricula is specially designed with the
developmental needs of each age group in mind. The at home materials are
unique and really supplement everything we do in class. We believe that
parents are the primary teachers of their children and through the home
materials you have the tools to continue the Kindermusik experience at
home.
I look forward to working with you and your family in the future. Come
for a free trial class and see what Kindermusik can offer your child.
